Drainage System Design in St Louis, MO

foundation drainage

Do you have water pooling in the yard, or leaking in the basement, every time it rains? Do you "really" need waterproofing? Or do you simply need to re-direct the water away from your house.

If excess water is making your St Louis, MO yard seem soggy or is flooding your basement or crawl space, you may need to install a drainage system to help avoid further damage. Rain and groundwater can accumulate in your yard and cause soil erosion and water damage to your home. This damage can be quite serious if left untreated. Fortunately, Foundation Protection Services can install a drainage system for your property to keep your home dry and protected.

Most foundation and basement leaks are caused by hydrostatic pressure from poor rainwater drainage. Most of these problems can be resolved by making simple and inexpensive rainwater drainage corrections (French drains, downspout extensions, etc.). Our custom-designed drainage systems are a healthy and effective solution that could save you hundreds of dollars over traditional solutions.

We Specialize in French Drains and Downspout Extensions

french drains

In the example pictured above and to the right, we solved this soggy lawn's problem by installing a downspout extension from the downspout on the right front corner of the house, also the French drain's discharge line, from the front of the house, is "y"d in (connected together) to the discharge line. The green thing that the discharge line is running to is simply a "pop-up" discharge elbow. When the line gets full of water the center lifts up and the water from the French drain and downspout extensions flows out and safely downhill to a harmless location. when the water has drained gravity closes the "pop-up" elbow so it will not get clogged.

After the system is installed, the sod will be replaced and the lawn will be as good as new - no, better! With proper drainage, the lawn will stay healthy for years to come!  Now all the rainwater from the downspouts that used to run towards the front of the house, is now caught in the French drain and downspout extensions.  The elevation of the pipes runs the water safely to the green "pop-up," with the result:

No more water in the home when it rains!

Before French drain installation

Before installing the French drain rainwater was pouring over the gutters and pooling next to the building. This was causing a leak in the Church basement when it rained
